Dive Insight:
While PVH plans to operate the key lifestyle components of its North America wholesale business, the company is partnering with specialists in certain categories to provide “deep category and channel expertise,” it said in the release.
The move is part of its PVH+ Plan, a multi-year strategy that’s meant to drive the company toward $12.5 billion in revenue by this year, as well as boost the value of the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands.
Donald Kohler, the newly named CEO of PVH Americas, said PVH is bringing in-house the licenses that represent the core of its brands, while working with complementary partners on the others.
“Herman Kay is a recognized market leader in outerwear, and we’re excited to work with them to accelerate our category growth plans in the market,” Kohler said in the release.
Herman Kay’s other clients include Michael Kors, Lucky Brand and Anne Klein, according to its website.
In 2022, PVH announced the extension of most of its license agreements with G-III Apparel Group and announced new staggered expiration dates ranging from 2025 to 2027. G-III handles licensing for U.S. and Canada apparel wholesale for Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.
In PVH’s latest earnings report, CEO Stefan Larsson said that while the company was making progress in its PVH+ Plan, it is facing an uncertain consumer and macroeconomic backdrop.
PVH logged Q1 revenue of $1.98 billion, a 2% increase year over year.
