Dive Insight:
Gallici joined the Belgian fashion house in April 2020 as menswear designer after the Ann Demeulemeester brand was acquired by Claudio Antonioli, a fashion entrepreneur, that same year. Gallici was previously a designer for the Antonioli Group, also owned by Antonioli.
“Stefano immediately demonstrated a strong creativity and a clear vision for Ann Demeulemeester,” Claudio Antonioli, the brand’s owner, said in the Instagram post which announced the hire. “He represents the DNA of the brand with an eye to the future.”
Gallici began his career in Antwerp. Ann Demeulemeester, the brand’s founder and namesake, was one of the Antwerp Six.
Since joining Ann Demeulemeester, Gallici has “played a key role in the brand,” the label said in the post.
In the first quarter of 2023, the Ann Demeulemeester label was called one of the “Breakout Brands to watch” on the Lyst Index, which measures fashion’s top brands and products based on shopping behavior and product searches.
