Footwear brand Aerosoles has entered a licensing agreement with Maze Collections Inc., marking its further expansion into the apparel category, according to a Monday press release.
Under the deal with Maze, Aerosoles will handle the distribution of women’s “work-appropriate career pants,” according to the release.
The pants in the newly-announced collection will include skinny, straight and bootcut designs, as well as curvy fit options. The first collections are expected to launch in spring 2024 and will be available at department stores and off-price retailers starting at $80, per the release.
The deal builds on Aerosoles’ entrance into sleepwear earlier this year, when it entered a licensing agreement with United Intimate Group for sleepwear, robes and intimate apparel.
Aerosoles was acquired by American Exchange Group in 2022, years after it tried to sell itself in 2017 and later that year filed for bankruptcy.
Upon the acquisition, American Exchange Group said it planned to expand Aerosoles’ distribution channels and introduce new categories and audiences to the brand. Aerosoles operates within American Exchange Group as a separate division.
Cynthia Nixon, executive vice president of licensing and brand development at American Exchange Group, said in the release that the collaboration with Maze marks a “natural evolution” for the brand.
"I have been passionate about expanding our Aerosoles brand into sportswear since the successful launch of our sleepwear collection in February 2023,” Nixon said. “...What excites me the most is how seamlessly these career pants will coordinate with our footwear.”
American Exchange Group, which also owns footwear brand White Mountain, designs, manufactures and distributes licensed products for brands including Adrienne Vittadini, Alexis Bendel and Jones New York.
