- Adidas Yeezy Boost and Adidas Campus 00s were the most faked sneakers received by resale marketplace StockX within the last year, according to the platform’s annual verification report.
- StockX said it rejected more than 400,000 products with a value of about $85 million that didn’t meet its verification standards. This was an increase from last year when it rejected about 300,000 items.
- By category, StockX found that apparel and sneakers were the most susceptible to counterfeits.

Over the last year, brands have adopted a firmer stance against counterfeit products.
Both Christian Louboutin and Prada collaborated with tech giants to sue counterfeiters, and more recently, the OTB group launched a verification system to certify products from its Jil Sander, Maison Margiela and Marni brands.
This is especially true in the resale space, which is rapidly gaining popularity. The U.S. secondhand market is expected to reach a valuation of $73 billion by 2028, according to a March report by ThredUp.
In addition to StockX, several resale platforms have their own verification process to combat fakes, including eBay, Vestiaire Collective and Rebag.
Products that don’t make it through StockX’s verification process show sizing inconsistencies, missing accessories, box damage, signs of previous wear, or suspected fraudulence, per the release.
The other top faked sneakers StockX received were Jordan 4 Retro Black Cat, New Balance 550 White Green and Nike Dunk Low Retro White Black Panda.
The report also mentioned the most faked shoes and slides it received. The top three shoes were each Uggs, including the Classic Ultra Mini Boot and the Classic Mini II Boot in Chestnut and the Classic Ultra Mini Boot in Antilope.
The most faked slides were the Adidas Yeezy Slide in both the bone and onyx shades, and the Adidas Yeezy Foam RNR in onyx.
Beyond footwear, StockX is also a platform for apparel, collectibles, handbags and accessories. The most faked handbags were the Jacquemas Le Grand Bambino Crossbody Strap Handbag, the Telfar Shopping Bag Medium and the Louis Vuitton Mini Bumbag Monogram.
